Founder + Principal Design

Meet Janelle

Janelle is a Northeasterner who never expected to land in Dallas, but fell hard for the warm Texas winters and the people. Now not even a Levain double-chocolate cookie could lure her back to New York City. (Well, maybe if there were two.)

Her design style is a mix of modern and traditional elements. She loves unexpected color and vintage items that make a space feel unique and collected. She believes in comfy sofas, performance fabrics, and coffee tables you can put your feet on. Her work has been featured in publications including Architectural Digest, D Home, LUXE, Real Simple, Martha Stewart, Good Housekeeping, Southern Living and on the cover of House Beautiful! She has been named one of Dallas's Best Designers by D Home year after year, a Rising Design Star by Dallas Market Magazine, and one of LUXE Magazine’s Next in Design 99.

Ali Ames

Senior Designer
Ali is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma. Prior to joining Lark, she honed her skills at some of the country's top architecture and design firms (you likely have some of her work saved on your Pinterest boards without even knowing it). She's originally from Tulsa and is the proud mom of Mr. Bates - her trick-doing, Chewy-modeling King Charles Cavalier - and Sunday, the sweetest, snuggliest Cavalier pup you'll ever meet. Ali is a talented baker, an expert crafter, and has a personal style best described as "Parisian apartment." She's never met a Liberty of London print she didn't like.
Stephanie Wachel

Designer
Stephanie is a proud graduate of the University of North Texas with a degree in Interior Design. Originally from Southern Maryland, she made her way to Texas as quickly as she could, and after more than 20 years, she’s officially earned the title of Texan (accent included). She has a soft spot for color-drenched rooms and never passes up a bold wallpaper moment. Her camera roll tells you everything you need to know: beautiful interiors, travel adventures with her husband, and an unreasonable number of photos of her beloved black lab, Stormy Girl.
Kailey Grassi

Junior Designer
Kailey earned her bachelor's degree in Interior Design from the University of North Texas in 2023. She is the resident “young person” on our team and a home-grown Dallas girl. With a deep passion for design matched only by her love for dogs, she shines as a CAD expert. Her unique talents extend to reciting every Mamma Mia song and identifying obscure livestock breeds. It goes without saying that she is a valuable and delightful part of our team!
Kate Menefee

Project Coordinator
Kate is the girl behind the curtain, making everything run smoothly. Her design style is quirky and fun—and her DIY skills are the envy of us all. Recent projects include building a deck and tiling her bathroom. She is as hilarious as she is talented. She gives us all of our best content and is undoubtedly the reason we’re laughing half the time. Not only does she keep everything in line at work, she’s a rockstar mom to two cool kids and a fellow Diet Coke addict. Basically, she’s awesome.
Lesley Napper

Marketing Director
A Texan at heart - though she left a piece of it in the Windy City - Lesley's love for design shines through as she uses her marketing expertise to tell the Lark Interiors story, a role she describes as a dream come true. With a master's degree in journalism and strategic marketing, plus PR agency experience under her belt, she brings creativity, strategy, and storytelling to every project. When she's not working, you'll likely find her cheering on her daughters from the sidelines or curled up with a good book.

While Dallas is home, our work extends beyond DFW. We happily take on a select number of projects across the country for clients who are looking for a thoughtful, highly personalized design experience.
