What to Expect When You Work With Us

Since we know that “if you fail to plan, you plan to fail,” Lark has developed a step-by-step process to ensure your project’s success. 

Here’s how we do it:

01— Consultation & Project Planning

During this initial conversation, we discuss whether your project is a new build, renovation, or furnishing plan. For new home construction, we also begin planning how design decisions will integrate with builder scheduling and early selections.

02 — Budget Proposal

Now that we have a good sense of the details of your project, we are prepared to answer the question: how much will it cost?  We’ll provide a detailed fee estimate, furnishing budget, and estimated timeline for your project. For new home projects, we coordinate estimated construction budgets and design fees early to help you align goals before builder pricing begins.

03— Project Kick-Off

The official start of your project!  We’ll dive into all those Pins and Instagram photos you’ve been saving.  We’ll cover your design pet-peeves and all the practical, functional details that will allow us to design the perfect space for you. On new builds, this includes early coordination with your builder, priority selections that impact framing and finishes, and timeline expectations.

04— Design Presentation

You’ve patiently waited while we’ve been sourcing furniture, pulling fabrics schemes, and drawing elevations in CAD.  Now you get to see the result of all our hard work.  We’ll review each space in detail, providing samples for you to touch, feel, and test (want to pour coffee on the performance fabric?  Go for it!)

05— Procurement & Project Management

The “are we there yet?” portion of the project.  We support ongoing coordination with your builder, conduct regular site visits, track materials and selections that affect construction scheduling, and double-check deliveries to keep everything aligned with the project timeline. We sweat all the small stuff, so that you don’t have to.
